Celebrating Valentine’s Day after almost a year into the pandemic will either leave you giddy at the thought of a quiet romantic dinner at home -or- shaking your head in dismay thinking that even your partner’s blinking is driving you batty. So, I have provided options! 🙂  

If you fall into the first category – go all out and make both the romantic panna cotta AND the yummy, candied blood oranges. Now if you fall into the later – maybe give your partner a pass for the day and at least serve up some chocolate-dipped candied blood oranges to bring back that ole’ romantic feeling.

Wow – this hot weather has sent my zucchini and tomato plants soaring! I had to take out one zucchini plant this weekend because the little monsters are threatening to overtake my entire garden.  And do I have zucchini already – see the photo below! Time for zucchini bread!  I found this yummy decadent chocolate zucchini bread on the Joy of Baking website.  I tripled the recipe, and substituted dark chocolate cocoa powder. They came out stupendous – moist and chocolatey with gooey chocolate chips floating throughout.

Oh my – dessert should not be this easy nor yummy! I first spotted references to this dreamy end-of-summer delight when researching recipes for Ferragosto and have been waiting for an excuse to re-create this in my kitchen.  Ok – so my excuse is pretty weak – I have been stuck inside for a few days due to the deluge of rain with a basket of sweet, ripening local peaches.   But the result was a kitchen filled with the wonderful aroma of chocolate and peaches slowly melding into the most delicious summer dessert ever.
