Wait – what??? It is December??? How in the world did December turn up already? Wow, I have to say this has been one of the zippiest years I can ever remember.  With my 187 year-old house under renovation, the Christmas decorations remain in the basement this year. Yet, this girl is not one to miss a good holiday! Bring on Christmas!

The thought of going to a crowded mall (well, candidly any shopping mall) makes me depressed so it was time to get creative amongst all the chaos.

Firstly, it has been a few weeks since I have been able to post! My little MacBook Air bit the MacBook dust and I only just had it returned lovingly to my arms.  Back in business over here at Our Italian Table. Now for the fun part – it is that time of year when we must find the perfect summer house cocktail. When the weather turns warm, my little taste buds crave Campari. It screams summer to me – many memories of sitting on the beach in Sicily sipping Campari confections that the bartender had created.

The Bicicletta

Ingredients:

Ice

2 parts white wine, such as Pinot Grigio

1 part Campari

Club soda, to taste

Lemon or orange slice

Directions:

1. Fill glass with ice. I use red wine glasses for the cocktail.

2. Add wine, campari and club soda to taste.
