It is terrible how drastically things can change in a heartbeat. Your dish sounds delicious. I too make my pesto from scratch. Even with the price of pine nuts being what they are, I think it is cheaper than store-bought and so much better tasting. I buy my pine nuts in a large quantity for a better price and keep them in the freezer.
